We would like to thank all the supporters of our programs without whose help the efforts of numerous Civitas experts to make the educational programs for media literacy the focus of acceptance, understanding and development would not have been realized.
UNESCO initiated the question of education for the media back in the 1970s. Present-day media have become an important factor in the lives of children, youth and the family. They influence our viewpoints, our behaviour, socialization, identification. They shape our environment. We would also like to call attention to the Declaration on "Media Education" from 1982 which emphasizes the need for the entry of media education and media literacy into all educational levels of society. For this reason we would like to sincerely thank all those whose understanding of the importance of media literacy has helped Civitas with regards to carrying out the demanding media program projects.
